HOGAN'S FARMS

OUR STORY

Hogan's Farms has grown to be a provider of fresh eggs to the community and the workplace. We strive to provide the best quality eggs. We maintain a clean facility, and we provide the best care you can give to our flock. We also incubate and hatch baby chicks and ducklings to grow our flock and give people the opportunity to start their own backyard farm.

 

Hogan's Farms began as a birthday present for my lovely and beautiful wife. We stopped at Tractor Supply located right here in Sumter, South Carolina, and she picked out ten baby chicks and two ducklings. These chicks were five Cornish Rocks (unsexed) and five Rhode Island Red pullets. The ducklings were Peking white ducks. The very next week she went and bought five more baby chicks, Golden Comets. A month later she bought ten more baby chicks and two additional ducklings, Australorp chicks (unsexed) and two mallards.

 

 

Our hens started laying eggs around five months old. The ducks started laying their eggs a couple of weeks later. Hogan's Farms became a licensed wholesale egg distributor in South Carolina in September 2014.

In late 2014, we began incubating eggs to make our flock larger, and people were asking for babies to raise themselves.

 

In just a short period of time, we have sold nearly half of the 70 chicks we have hatched.

 

In February, our flock grew once again when my wife decided to add two more ducklings, Australian Spotted ducks.

 

We are currently seeking membership with South Carolina Certified and the South Carolina Farm Bureau.
